My name is John, I work for BJ Alan Phantom Fireworks, and started reading Tolkien at age 17. I hadn't read the books for about 20 years, and then the movies came out, and they sort of spurred me back into the mood, where I've recently been reading again.

My favorite character in Tolkien's works is Boromir. Some say he "betrayed" the Company, and in a way he did. But, his own folly helped save the quest. Boromir made Frodo realize he had to get out of the Fellowship before the other members fell to it too. Also, Boromir redeems himself by dying to defend the Hobbits, as his dying words....
"Farwell Aragorn! Go to Minas Tirith and save my people! I have failed."
"No!" said Aragorn, taking his hand nad kissing his brow. "You have conquered. Few have gained such a victory. Be at peace! Minas Tirith shall not fall!"

Sean Bean is also one of my favorite actors, along with Bernard Hill. I'd have to say I like Theoden next to Boromir, I guess it's just these deaths that sort of get to me. :)
