Tolkien's Mythology for England

My name is Andy Marshall and I am a relatively recent fan of Tolkien's work but I have been trying extremely hard to make up for lost time. I'm 17 years old and I'm doing my a-levels at the moment. I love both the books and the films (it was the Fellowship of the Ring that persuaded me to read the books in the first place) and I greatly admire what Tolkien achieved in his life. I'm patriotic and conservative and I despair sometimes about the lack of pride within England for out Nation and our history. Tolkien recognised that England, the centre of the British Empire, the jewel of the world had no mythology at all. Stories of myth and legend where the line between fact and fiction has been dissolved over time. Lord of the Rings is our mythology and I believe the history is our history.
